ACE Member Plants Celebrate Milestones
ACE members Lincolnway Energy and Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company (CVEC) recently marked significant milestones in their histories.
In May, Lincolnway Energy, located in Nevada, Iowa, commemorated its 20th anniversary. Since May 22, 2006, the plant has been processing corn into fuel-grade ethanol and distillers grains, contributing to the growth and success of the ethanol industry.
CVEC reached its own major milestone in June, marking 30 years of operation. The occasion was recognized at the company’s plant in Benson, Minnesota, on June 18, where ACE joined in honoring the achievement. ACE Membership Coordinator Anna Carpenter also shared remarks during the event.
We are proud to recognize these ACE member plants and the impact they have made over the years. Congratulations to Lincolnway Energy and CVEC on reaching these remarkable milestones and on their continued success!
House Passes Year-Round E15; Senate Must Now Act
A sincere thank you to ACE members and grassroots advocates whose outreach helped secure House passage of H.R. 1346, the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act, by a bipartisan vote of 218-203. Your participation in recent fly-ins and use of ACE’s online Action Center was pivotal to advancing E15 in the House. With this victory achieved, our focus shifts to the U.S. Senate.
Please take a moment to use our Action Center to urge your Senators to cosponsor S. 593, the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act. If your Senators already support the legislation, ask them to help secure enough votes to pass E15 year-round in the Senate. The bottom-line message to Senators is a vote against allowing E15 year-round is a vote for higher pump prices. Take action at ethanol.org/action-center.

St. Ansgar Fuel Time Gas Station Offers Some of the Nations Cheapest E85 Fuel
In May, a father and son started selling E85 fuel for $1.49 a gallon at their gas station in St. Ansgar.
Galen and Garrett Barker run Fuel Time, where they began offering the fuel at about half the national average at the time of $2.98 per gallon. The low price is possible because of their proximity to supplier Absolute Energy, allowing them to keep costs down while still making a profit.
"They're making the same money on E85 as their other gallons," said Tyler Schwarck, CEO of Absolute Energy. "We price it appropriately, and then there's freight, state and federal tax, and their normal margins on their E85. That's how you get $1.49 a gallon."
"The cost per mile on E85 is significantly less than everything else," Garrett Barker said. "Even if you are losing a mile or two per gallon."
"We would really like to see the car companies offer more flex fuel vehicles out there," Garrett added. "So that everybody can burn this."
