Midwest Cooling Towers Inc. has been part of the ethanol industry's growth story from the beginning. Since the company was founded, we have designed, supplied and installed cooling towers at over 80 percent of ethanol plants across the United States. That is not a number we arrived at by accident. It is the result of more than 30 years of focus and dedication to what ethanol producers need and showing up to deliver it.
Dependable cooling towers performance is an absolute requirement for the uptime, yield, and purity of ethanol production. Every ethanol plant depends on them, and when a cooling tower goes down, the plant goes down with it. That reality is what drives how we work. We understand that uptime is everything in ethanol production, and we build our service model around that understanding.
What We Do
Our services cover every stage of a cooling tower's life. For new construction, our design and construction teams work through every phase of a project, from budgeting and planning to installation. For existing facilities, we offer wood to FRP reconstruction, thermal upgrades, cell by cell repair, and emergency services for towers that need attention before they become a production problem. We’ve built our business to provide rapid response with materials from inventory and installation labor available when production is under threat.
We also provide ongoing maintenance and support programs designed to keep towers performing at their thermal capacity, reduce unplanned shutdowns and extend the life of existing equipment. Proper maintenance is the most cost-effective investment an ethanol plant can make in its cooling infrastructure, and we have the experience to help producers build programs that work.
Beyond services, Midwest Cooling Towers operates an in-house supply chain for cooling tower components, manufacturing and supplying critical parts from structure, fans, gearboxes and motors to heat transfer media and drift eliminators. When ethanol producers need components, they should not have to wait.
