ACE CMO shared information about the U.S. ethanol industry and answered questions from the group, which was sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council. Former U.S. South Dakota Senator Remembered for Ag-Impact
Mid-October a former U.S. Senator from South Dakota, Tim Johnson, passed away due to complications following a stroke. He served Congress for nearly 30 years and is responsible for several ag-focused efforts, including being a strong supporter of renewable fuels and was involved, alongside other leaders, in the creation of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Johnson can also be credited with helping create South Dakota’s ethanol industry, which is ranked in the top 10 states for U.S. ethanol production.
