Push Priority Issues. 2023 brings with it several timely issues for the industry, including ensuring E15 can be sold nationally year-round by this summer’s driving season, and EPA finalizes robust Renewable Fuel Standard biofuel volumes for 2023 and beyond. The fly-in allows advocates to put a human face on priority issues and make connections with staff and Members of Congress that pay dividends in the future.
Have a Seat at the Table. As the old but true saying goes in DC, if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu. The fly-in is an opportunity for grassroots ethanol supporters to have a seat at the table in DC, particularly as we work to position corn ethanol as part of the climate solution in conversations being had around national clean fuel policy.
Tell Your Story. Over the events 12-year history, nearly 300 unique individuals have rallied together. These people include plant owners, managers, employees, investors, corn growers, fuel retailers, ethanol industry suppliers, and others from over 30 states. Members of Congress and their staff hear from lobbyists and association staff regularly, but a deeply personal perspective of how the ethanol industry has directly benefitted a participant may help them view a topic with fresh eyes. Collective grassroots voices make a difference in Washington.
Meet with Key Influencers. ACE’s fly-in typically involves meetings with 125 Congressional offices, including meetings with powerful committee chairs and ranking members, and enables you to hear firsthand from key officials with EPA, USDA, and other important government agencies.
Attend with Ease. All you do is show up — ACE will get you up to speed on the policy issues, you’ll be briefed on the ins and outs of participating in meetings with your representatives and senators and we’ll schedule your Capitol Hill meetings for you. Plus, the event is FREE to attend. Attendees are just responsible for their hotel and travel expenses.
Here’s what past attendees are saying about the event…
“The ACE fly-in was a great experience for me to witness the gap in understanding between Washington and the Midwest on renewable fuels and ag issues. ACE staff did a good job of breaking these multiple issues down to three main talking points that can resonate with legislators. ACE put us all in a position to make a difference.” – John Christianson, Christianson PLLP
“I would challenge anyone to attend the ACE fly-in, this event offers the best industry updates along with lifechanging stories that are sure to leave you confident your voice needs to be heard.” - Todd Brown, Dakota Ethanol
