EPA Proposes 2026–2027 RFS Volume Requirements
On June 13, EPA released proposed Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) for 2026 and 2027 under the Renewable Fuel Standard. The proposal maintains 15 billion gallons for conventional renewable fuels like corn ethanol in both years, with total volumes of 24.02 billion gallons in 2026 and 24.46 billion in 2027. EPA also proposes lowering RIN values for imported fuels to prioritize U.S.-produced biofuels.
“We’re encouraged by EPA’s intent to finalize the rule quickly,” said ACE CEO Brian Jennings. “But we’ll continue pushing for conventional volumes above 15 billion gallons to reflect industry growth.”
A public hearing is set for July 8, with comments due by August 8. Separately, the Supreme Court ruled that all future legal challenges to Small Refinery Exemptions (SREs) must be heard in the D.C. Circuit.
Fluid Quip Technologies to Equip Adkins Energy with Overdrive™ System for Boosted Oil Yield and Lower Costs
Fluid Quip Technologies (FQT) announced ACE Member Adkins Energy will install its Overdrive™ Oil Pretreat System to increase distillers corn oil yield and reduce chemical costs. The Overdrive™ System enhances oil separation efficiency by preconditioning syrup feeds and integrates easily into existing setups with minimal disruption.
“This game-changing technology delivers higher yields and lower OpEx,” said FQT President Neal Jakel. “Adkins Energy is an ideal partner, and we’re proud to support their continued success.”
Adkins expects the system to drive immediate results. “We’re excited to implement Overdrive for fast ROI and long-term operational gains,” said COO Bill Howell.
